Dr. Kevin Savage is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon. Dr. Savage graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor society. He completed his internship at Harvard University and dermatology residency and Mohs fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he served as chief resident in his final year of residency.
Dr. Savage grew up in Middletown, Delaware and attended the University of Delaware before receiving his medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Savage completed his dermatology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he served as chief resident for his class of 18 residents. During his residency, Dr. Savage worked with leaders in the field of immunobullous disease, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, and gained experience caring for patients with dermatologic sequelae from experimental cancer therapies. Dr. Savage also cultivated an interest in cosmetic dermatology working with world-renowned cosmetic dermatologist, Dr. Suzan Obagi, whom he models his cosmetics practice after.
Following residency, Dr. Savage was selected as the Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology fellow for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. In this role, Dr. Savage trained extensively under Dr. Melissa Pugliano-Mauro, caring for high-risk cutaneous oncology patients including solid organ transplant recipients and immunosuppressed patients. Dr. Savage is highly trained in complex facial reconstruction following Mohs micrographic surgery and looks forward to taking care of your unique cases.
Dr. Savage also has an interest in research with over 50 publications and 300 citations in the field of dermatology. Dr. Savage was the lead author for the American Academy of Dermatology’s guidelines for dermatologic surgery in elderly patients and pain management for hidradenitis suppurativa patients and excited to bring this expertise to his patients.
Dr. Savage lives in the area with his wife (from Middletown, NJ) and son. When not in clinic, Dr. Savage can be found on the water, at the beach, or watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins.
